Make a Tea Cozy

Join us and learn how to make a charming & utilitarian tea cozy for yourself or as a gift. If you enjoy the simple pleasure of sitting down to a cup of tea, then extend that pleasure with cups of tea that stay warm with each pour. A cozy teapot cover does the trick perfectly.

With this project you will learn how to make a tea cozy with insulating layers to keep your teapot from having a chill. The quilted outer layer can be as unadorned or decorative as you like. Included is an inner protective layer that keeps the outer layer clean and tidy from inevitable tea spills and splatters. It is removable making laundering easy.

You will learn how to execute basic quilting and how to add seam binding to finish the edges.

All you need is 1/2 yard of fabric for the outer cozy, a 1/2 yd scrap of insulating batting, and 1/2 yard of cotton flannel for the removable inner lining, plus some pre-made seam binding. And your creative inspirations.

The staff at Mulberry Silks will be happy to help you find the perfect fabrics to get you ready for a fun tea cozy making.
