Let’s Sew Fashion Camp

Teen Sewing Series is a workshop-based sewing space just for teens! We’ll focus on mastering basic sewing skills through group classes that feature fun, teen-friendly projects. Students can expect to leave class with a finished item, the skills and knowledge to begin sewing on their own, and to explore our more advanced class offerings.

This intermediate class builds on our beginner series and focuses on a sleeveless dress. We will be using the no. 1 dress from 100 acts of sewing. We will consider the differences between different fabrics, and the properties of different fibers. Students will then select a fabric, select a size, and learn how to sew using a commercial pattern, while learning the basics of garment construction. They will learn how to use a pattern, create & sew bias binding, how to fit their body, how to alter and fine tune their pattern. This camp celebrates creativity and embraces your inner designer!

Meet the Maker: Bryanne Young

I am a curious and energetic garment sewist. I am interested equally in the practical strictures of design as I am the pull towards whimsy and creative self-expression. I believe that personal style is a fundamental form of voice, and that making clothes crafts a powerful link to the past, the future, and one another. Come sew with me!
