Range Back- pack

This fun backpack should be on everyone’s to-make list.  This pattern is a great skill builder as well as a fabulous finished product.  Use the recommended waxed canvas or grab a fun canvas. Either way you won’t be disappointed.


Pre-requisites: Basic sewing/Quilting

Skill Level: Intermediate

Supplies Needed:

Pattern:  Range Backpack by Noodlehead

Exterior Fabric- ¾ yard

Contrast Bottom- ½ yard

Lining Fabric- 1.5 yards

SF101- Shape Flex- 3.5 yards

Medium weight interfacing- 1 yard

(2) 1.5 inch wide Rectangle Rings

(2) 1.5 inch wide Strap Sliders

This pattern was designed for Wax Canvas or another heavy fabric.  If you want to use quilting cotton, please check the back of the pattern for suggestions on how to work with this.


Thread to match exterior fabric – polyester if using Waxed Canvas

Zipper Foot

Microtex 80 or 90 needles

Marking tool (chaco liner is my favorite)

Walking Foot

Fabrics and supplies must be purchased from Mulberry Silks prior to the date the class begins. We do offer our students a 10% discount on all supplies required for your project(s). In most cases, you will need to wash and dry your fabric before the first class, so come in and get a materials list, browse the store, and get started***
