A truly great sewing project!  Sew up a drawstring bag that makes a reusable gift bag… forget all the wrapping paper this year.  Even better you can use this every gift giving season.  This drawstring bag is also a great bag to use for you knitting projects, sewing project bags or travel bags. Learn straight stitiching, cutting, following a pattern, making a casing and inserting drawstring.

Beginner sewers welcomed ages 18 and up

Pattern: Lined Drawstring Bag by  Jeni Baker (We have a paper pattern for sale at the shop!)

Fabric: 1/2 yard cuts gives you two

Coordinating thread

2 yards of ½”  ribbon OR 1/8 yard of fabric

Safety Pin

Water Soluble marking pen or Chaco liner

Rotary cutter/ mat/ ruler

Basic Sewing Supplies ( sewing machine, scissors, pins, power cord, foot pedal, new needle in machine, etc)

*** You can register by phone using a credit card or come by Mulberry Silks and pay by cash, check, or credit card. Class fees must be paid in full when you register. 

We please ask to be mindful when you sign up for class.  Classes are popular.

If a class is cancelled by the instructor, a full refund will be given. If you cancel, we can refund your class fee only if you notify us  7 days before class. We’re sorry, but if you miss a class we cannot reschedule it nor can we make any fee adjustment.  

Fabrics and supplies must be purchased from Mulberry Silks prior to the date the class begins. We do offer our students a 10% discount on all supplies required for your project(s). In most cases, you will need to wash and dry your fabric before the first class, so come in and get a materials list, browse the store, and get started***
