Pop-up Flyer Fabric

Cotton Crinkle Double Gauze
100% cotton
55″ wide
Holy moly!  We went a little wild and ordered LOTS of colors of cotton double gauze.  A wonderful fabric for Fall temperatures.  We got some of our beloved favorites and then got some new to us colors.  They are all so pretty!   Double gauze is soft, plush,  lightweight,  rich crinkle texture and feels cloud like.  Great in for a breezy dress, crop top, oversized button down shirt, a light weight duster, wrap jacket, house robe, simple tank top or a voluminous sleeved blouse.

Hot sewing tip for Double gauze:  We recommend when sewing to embrace the crinkle, that means the less ironing the better fit.  Try finger pressing instead as it is very easy to manipulate.

Black + White Gingham Woven Tencel
100% TENCEL™ Lyocell
58″ wide
5.0 oz
Does some fabric just make your heart beat fast and you loose all control?  Well, this is what happened when we got our hands on this gorgeous piece of Tencel.  We will always buy great Tencel for the shop, solids are always a yes, but to find a Tencel in a print made us giddy!  Fantastic drape, weight and feels pretty fantastic on the skin.  We love this piece for a really classic Vintage Vogue dress with buttons down the front, wide leg trousers, button down shirts, Jumpsuits, swingy skirts or a tunic.  Its a really lovely piece of fabric.

Oversized Shirt/ The Assembly Line $29

Silk + Rayon Velvet
18% Silk 82% Rayon
45″ wide
First thing is first, when there is a little bit of chill in the air we always immediately order some new colors of silk + rayon velvet.  Nothing says Fall like fuzzy iridescent slinky velvet.  Feel festive and sew yourself a simple shirt pattern up in a velvet like the 100 Acts of Sewing shirt no. 1.  You can dress it up or dress it down. This velvet also looks great in a classic wrap to wear to a wedding or even just heading out to dinner.  If you have a fun holiday event to attend to, sew this up in the simplest dress pattern and you will look like a million bucks.  This velvet also looks great in a duster or loose jacket.  Not to mention Silk + Rayon velvet can be used to spruce up your couch or bedroom with some beautiful throw pillows or fantastic for a holiday stocking.  Its really so much fun.

Hot sewing tip for velvet:  Yes, the true beauty of this velvet is the drape but it can make it a little tricky to sew.  We recommend hand basting your seams before you head to your machine.  It will keep you fabric in tack and prevent it from moving on you. Try Roxanne Basting needles which are the best, we always keep them in stock.

Kokka Japanese Fabrics
43″ wide
Another wonderful batch of incredible Japanese textiles.  These artistic made prints never disappoint.  Exquisite quality and a dream to sew with.  Truly ideal for garment sewing.  Pick your favorite drafted patterns for these unique pieces and we promise you will fall in love with them each time you wear them.  One really cool thing about Japanese textiles is that they only print a certain run of yardage.  So when you buy a piece it makes it that more unique.  You and a handful of people will be the only one to own a certain print.  Pretty awesome!

oh wow! Be still our hearts.  We were already in a great mood from the weather changing but opening this box from Canada with these wildly vibrant colors really has our sewing minds going!  First of all, if you live near us please come by and touch this fabric, if you live not so near please phone us for a swatch.  It is so soft and stretchy that you really cannot stop petting it.  One side is smooth sweat shirting fabric and the other is fuzzy with a plush hand.  Just a brilliant piece! OEKO-TEX certified so it’s also a fabric that you can feel good about. Appropriate for hoodies, sweatshirts, joggers, cardigans, robes and what ever pattern you choose to make will last for years to come in this beautiful fabric.

Loop Terry Rib
*OEKO-TEX Certified*

95% Cotton 5% Spandex
51″ wide
12.1 oz
What can we say?  Mulberry is doing Fall properly!  This is a not so new to us fabric but a staple piece for us.  We discovered it last year and became quite obsessed.  Like how many Toaster Sweaters is too many?!  Heather Wine is the first color to arrive but more to follow.  It is the perfect weight for a cozy Fall/ Winter sweater.  We love that it is mostly cotton, it makes it breathable and easy to wear. A small subtle two toned rib gives you nice texture with out being a loud print.  It’s really a lovely piece and most of the time customers come back for a second color because it’s that good!  This is a great piece for a sweater, funnel neck top, cardigan, robe, heavier joggers and raglan sweatshirt.
